Erewhon smoothies are the famously expensive celebrity-collaboration smoothies sold at Erewhon, the upscale Los Angeles grocery chain. Most cost around $18–$22 each. The good news: you can make very similar smoothies at home for a fraction of the price. Below is what makes an Erewhon smoothie, a copycat of the best-known one, and four more Erewhon-style recipes.

Quick answer: The most famous Erewhon smoothie is Hailey Bieber’s Strawberry Glaze Skin Smoothie (about $20). A home version blends 1 cup frozen strawberries, 2 dates, ¼ avocado, ½ cup almond milk, 1 tbsp maple syrup and a spoon of coconut cream, with a strawberry “glaze” swirled inside the glass. It costs about $3–4 to make.

What Makes an Erewhon Smoothie Different?

  • Whole-food bases: frozen fruit, avocado, dates and nut milks rather than juice and sherbet.
  • Healthy fats such as coconut cream, avocado, almond butter or MCT oil for a thick, creamy texture.
  • Add-ins like collagen, sea moss or protein powder. Most of these have limited evidence for the benefits they are marketed with.
  • The swirl: many are served with a glaze or nut-butter swirl on the inside of the cup.

Are Erewhon Smoothies Healthy?

They use better ingredients than many chain smoothies: whole fruit, healthy fats and little added sugar. But they are also high in calories, often 400–600 kcal, so treat one as a meal, not a snack. Add-ins such as collagen and sea moss are mostly marketing: collagen supplements have some early evidence for skin elasticity, but sea moss and “glow” claims are largely unproven.
